Small changes that lead to big changes in your mental health.

Everyday we unconsciously practice unhealthy things that contribute to our mental health declining. Mental health includes the emotional, physical and psychological wellbeing of a person. Even if mental illness does not plague your everyday life - it’s important to acknowledge that to keep your mental health in tact there are small changes that you can make which can ultimately change your mental health immensely.
Start off your day with words of gratitude
Feelings of gratitude have been proven to provoke feelings of positivity and if you challenge yourself to start to think of things you’re grateful for – you hold yourself accountable and create positive thoughts that will continue throughout your day.
Clean your living space
If your living space is clean – it allows you to be able to mentally declutter which ultimately reduces stress.
Spend less time on your phone
Social media consumption has a direct correlation to your mental wellbeing and by reducing the time spent on your phone you can be more creative and interactive with the real world.
Move your body for 30 minutes a day
Exercise is one of the best ways to improve your mental health. Even if you don’t have time to exercise everyday - designating a small amount of time to whatever movement you enjoy could undoubtedly improve your mental wellbeing.
Spend more time outdoors
Being outdoors raises endorphin levels and dopamine production as well as increases vitamin D in the body which will all ultimately impact your mental well-being.
Stretch in the morning
Stretching increases blood flow and circulation to your muscles and brain which ultimately contributes to a clearer mind and a more joyful mood.
Cut out foods that don’t make you feel good
A very large body of evidence has suggested that diet is as important to mental health as it is to mental health – meaning cleaning up your diet can have a significant positive benefit to your mental health.
Be conscious of negative self talk and try to eliminate it
When you become conscious of how you think you can change your range of thought by promoting positive self talk instead of the negative.
Ones mental health cannot be fixed in a day, however, it’s important to recognize that there are small changes that you can make that will have a big impact on your mental wellbeing.
